Kulamuttam Ashraf Memorial Philanthropic
Award to Sheeja Sandra
Thiruvananthapuram:- It has been decided to give the philanthropic award named after Kulamuttam Ashraf, who was the General Secretary of the Abu Dhabi NRI Welfare Committee and a writer working in the art and culture sector in the Gulf, to Sheeja Sandra, the General Secretary of the Sneha Sandram Charitable Trust and a philanthropist, announced Dr. Sudhakaran Alain, Chairman of the Kulamuttam Ashraf Foundation.
The award committee chairman G Rajmohan announced that Animal Husbandry Minister Chinju Rani will present the award at a function to be held at Boban Residency on January 9.
The award consists of Rs. 10,001, a certificate of appreciation, a sculpture and a gold medal. Sheeja Sandra, whose husband abandoned her child after her child became disabled, is raising the child and organizing mothers of other children with disabilities to form a trust called Sneha Sandram and is carrying out charitable activities. Foundation secretary Nitin Ashraf announced that wheelchairs will be provided to disabled children along with the award distribution.
